Ceramic Tile - unglazed:

Ceramic tile is manufactured with various clays that are ground and blended to a fine powder, mixed with water and pressed together to form the tile's body. The pressed clay tile body is then dried and ready for a wide range of design applications.

Ceramic Tile - glazed:

Glazed ceramic tile requires an extra manufacturing step. The tile's surface is coated with a coloured glaze (similar to glass). The glaze is permanently fused to the surface of the tile by firing it in kilns to form the finished product and a very different look from that of unglazed tiles.
